University Program: Graduation and Graduates
Students completing the requirements for a degree or certificate are eligible to graduate from Arapahoe Community College. Certificates and diplomas are awarded at the end of the spring, summer and fall terms. Commencement is held in May to honor all students graduating during the past year.

Graduation vs. Commencement
There is a difference between Graduation and Commencement:
Graduation is actual degree or certificate
conferral-it is the process of posting the
credential to a student's academic record.
Commencement is simply the ceremony
celebrating graduation.

To Participate in Commencement:

Arapahoe Community College holds an annual commencement ceremony in May for students who have earned a certificate or diploma during that academic year. ACC conducts a beautiful ceremony that is held outside on the south lawn of the campus. It is a festive event that allows students the opportunity to celebrate their academic achievements with friends and family!

Students eligible to participate in the annual ceremony are:
  • Those who graduated during the previous Summer and/or Fall semesters, and
  • Those who have applied for Spring graduation and will complete all of their programmatic requirements by the end of the Spring semester.

Students must complete and submit the Commencement Participation form in order to participate in the ceremony. The form for the 2008 Commencement ceremony will be available on ACC's website in January 2008.

ACC President, Dr. Bert Glandon, addresses the class of 2002-2003.

The graduation ceremony is held every May at ACC in Littleton, Colorado.  To participate in the Spring 2008 ceremony, students need to apply for graduation before Nov. 1, 2007 (follow the steps outlined above).
